How To Know Jesus Knowing God

If you are seeking how to know Jesus, it’s important to understand there is only one way.  Our source for this truth is the Holy Bible.

How to Know Jesus

To know Jesus, literally means to have a relationship with him.  You can begin a relationship with Jesus by coming to him in faith, confess your sins asking him to forgive you, and make Jesus Lord of your life.  “Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life.  No one comes to the Father except through Me.”  John 14:6 Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB)

Jesus is the Son of God.  He came to earth as a baby, fully man and fully God.  He came to offer himself as a sacrifice for our sins.  For sin to be forgiven it requires a sacrifice.

Romans:  How to Be Saved

To understand how to know Jesus, to begin a relationship with him, let’s look at some Scriptures from the book of Romans in the New Testament.

“As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:”  Romans 3:10 KJV
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;”  Romans 3:23 KJV

From the above Scripture, we see that we have all sinned!  What is sin?  Look at the ten commandments.  Have you ever lied?  Stolen?  And so on with the other commandments?  Then you, and me, and everyone else has fallen short.  We have sinned.

Christ Died for You

Romans 5:8 says, “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” (KJV)

Sin separates you from God.  God is sinless, holy and for you to be made right with God, He provided a sacrifice for your sins through Jesus.  Jesus Christ died for you, but he didn’t stay dead.  He resurrected and is alive today at the right hand of God.Jesus is Alive

The Payment for Sin

Romans 6:23 says, “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” (KJV)

The result, the payment of sin is death.  This death is the eternal separation of you from God.  But…the gift of God is eternal life!  How?  Through Jesus.  He died for our sins.  We can be made right with God by placing our faith/trust in Jesus.

How to be Saved

“If you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.  One believes with the heart, resulting in righteousness, and one confesses with the mouth, resulting in salvation.”  Romans 10:9-10 HCSB
