New Year’s Goals
As we bid farewell and good riddance to last year, let’s look ahead to this New Year with hope! Treasure the life you’ve been given. Move headlong into the unknown with purpose. God bless each of you reading this New Year’s devotion.
Rise to the challenge of accomplishing the so called, “unreachable.” After you’ve bathed the unreachable in prayer and know that it’s God’s will, move forward knowing that “Nothing is impossible with God” (Luke 1:37).
Be still and know that I am God (Psalm 46:10)
Challenges are a given in life. Whenever you’re backed against a wall, look up! Look to the Lord who works all things together for our good (Romans 8:28).
Sometimes the hard things in life make us better or they can make us bitter. Please allow the Lord’s perfect will to shape you. I pray you come out of 2020 with your eyes fixed on King Jesus!
Joy This New Year’s
Be intentional in your walk with the Lord. If you neglect it, your relationship will not grow. Purpose in your heart to prioritize your life.
JOY is the result of a life committed to Christ, in one whose priorities are properly aligned with the will of God.
Whatever your lot (circumstances), I pray that the fire of God will rest on you and that you’ll be able to echo the words of the famous hymn, “It Is Well With My Soul” by Horatio Spafford:
- When peace, like a river, attendeth my way,
- When sorrows like sea billows roll;
- Whatever my lot, Thou hast taught me to say,
- It is well, it is well with my soul
.
To better understand the depth of this song, let me share a little about Horatio. He had sent his wife and children on vacation to Europe and was to join them later. The ship sank. His wife wired him a message, “Survived alone…” Horatio travelled to be with his wife and was inspired to write the words of this song.
I pray it is well with your soul! Seek the Lord in this New Year. He’s in control.
